Coming into tonight I was worried that the revival was going to ruin the show, but I was wrong. I was a little pissed at the ending of the last fight, but overall it was absolutely everything I remember that made BattleBots great and I can’t wait for next episode. I’m completely broke but I’m already looking around online pricing out parts needed to build a bot, and that’s exactly the feeling I got with the old show.
Anyone else watch it tonight?

Yup! I’m glad they didn’t really change anything. I just wish there was more use of the blades in the floor.

Was there anymore than two matches in the whole hour? I turned in 10 minutes in and that’s all they had.
In an hour.
An hour, and there were two fights.
In an hour.

I was rather underwhelmed with fight two and three. I never quite understood why these bots can sound so cool on paper, but once they get in the ring they look inept.

Posted this in someone else’s thread.
Warhead physically doesn’t appear to have changed since 2002, externally anyways.
Nightmare now has an Etek and changed the disc design, otherwise externally doesn’t appear to have changed since 2002. I’m actually surprised Jim didn’t bring out the heavyweight BreakerBox he built for the 2009 competition, 4-wheel box with a 360-degree revolving scoop, was deadly against spinners.
Warrior Clan looks about the same from mid- or late-2000s, aside from the multi-bots which are new.
I’m waiting to see Tombstone get out there, Ray’s other heavyweight Last Rites is a beast in ComBots and RoboGames, it appears Tombstone is almost identical so should be amazing to watch.

Really? I could have sworn there were only two. There was the last one with the firey mini-bot explosion, and the one with the spinning hubcap head. (below)
If there were two more in the first 10 minutes of the show, I missed them.

First fight was short, Icewave vs. something that used too much aluminum around the wheels.
Second was the walking/stomping robot vs. Plan X (I want to see Plan X vs. Tombstone, hehehehe).
Third fight was Warhead vs. whatever the other robot was named.
Fourth fight was Nightmare vs. Warrior Clan.
The second fight didn’t end until around 8:30 Central time, they’re pacing it about two fights per half hour. Keep in mind the actual event was held about a month ago, so they aren’t exactly live by any means.....

I noticed that too, didn’t seem like the saw blades or those rams came up at all that I noticed.
